Brenda F. Springfield

I am a retired art instructor living in Gainesville, Florida.  My love of birds began while watching cardinals at my grandmother’s birdbath in St. Augustine, FL.  It peaked again after my son did his science fair project on which feeders birds prefer and subsequently built me a shelf feeder for my kitchen window.  I was absolutely amazed and enthralled when beautiful gold and house finches lined up to eat while I washed dishes.

My love of photography began very early.  When I was in the second grade I took my “Swinger” Polaroid camera with me to school and most everywhere I went.   My son says he can hardly remember me without a camera. My husband realizes the importance of birding and photography in my life and encourages me in every way.  We love to spend time together observing and recording nature.
